With several new laws taking effect in 2022, veterinary practices will need to implement changes to remain in compliance. This talk will cover new and important laws that all employers and employees should be aware of moving forward. The course qualifies as continuing education credit for the purpose of California veterinarian and registered veterinary technician license renewal.

Mr. Baxter joined the California Veterinary Medical Association as its executive director after 20 years as the CVMA’s outside legal counsel. In the latter capacity, he worked with the CVMA’s executive staff, Board of Governors, and membership on a variety of issues large and small, ranging from legislative and regulatory work to litigation. In his role with the CVMA, Mr. Baxter looks forward to furthering the work of the association in support of the veterinary profession, including maintaining the CVMA’s status as a significant player in shaping veterinary-relevant statutes and regulations.
Dr. Grant Miller serves as the Director of Regulatory Affairs for the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). As director, Dr. Miller assists California veterinary professionals with compliance issues and regulatory matters involving various local, state, and federal agencies. In addition, Dr. Miller heads the California Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps, a volunteer organization devoted to assisting animals with sheltering and veterinary care during disasters and emergencies.

This course qualifies for 1.5 hours of interactive learning. Each paid registrant will be allowed access via one phone line and one log-in and will receive a certificate upon completion. An email will be sent to the registered attendee with login information on how to begin the webinar. CVMA reserves the right to invoice those individuals and/or organizations that are logged in or connected from telephone numbers that don’t correspond to a paid registration. This course is open to veterinarians, technicians, and hospital staff.
